釋金文「□」 、「□」 、「□」 、「□」 等字——兼解《左傳》的「讒鼎」 A Study of the Bronze Inscriptions “□” “□” “□” and “□”, and an Interpretation of Chan Tripod in Tzuo’s Annotation of the Spring and Autumn Annals

摘要

金文中有「□」字，見於　□皇父鼎，「□皇父乍□□□□鼎」，又有「□」字，見於叔□方彝、尊、□三器，為人名，及盂鼎「女勿□余乃辟一人」，又有「□」字，見於向□□為人名，及繁卣「易宗彝一□」為計算宗彝之單位，又有「□」字見於□□「宗彝一□寶」及多友鼎「湯鐘一□」為宗彝及湯鐘之單位，根據字形來分析，「□」象兔形，「□」加刀作聲符，「□」再加上肉作繁文，而「□」則去刀再加上□作為聲符，諸字所表達的事實上是同一個意義。也就是說兔善跳，故孳乳為超，而《方言》「釗、超、遠也，燕之北郊曰釗、東齊曰超。」又《說文》「□」字云「斷也，刀、毚聲，一曰剽也，釗也。」《爾雅釋詁》又有「讖亹亹、□沒、孟、敦、勗、釗、茂、劭、、勉也。」《方言》又有「自關而東周鄭之間曰釗」，因此盂鼎的「勿□」應可讀作「釗」，而叔□三器的「叔□」由其與王姒的關係可能即母子，因此「叔□」可能即康王釗。又說文「訬」字讀若「毚」，可知□、□和金文中表示一套的「造」字聲義相同，而「□□鼎」也就是「□造鼎」即一套鼎，「宗彝一□」、「宗彝一□寶」及「湯鐘一□」指的也是宗彝一套，湯鐘一套。
《左傳》昭公三年晉叔向引「讒鼎之銘」，所謂讒鼎即《禮記‧明堂位》之「崇鼎」，由金文的「□鼎」即遠鼎來看，讒毚聲，毚讀與訬同，可知「讒鼎」事實上就是造鼎，也就是一套鼎的意思。
