兩漢鏡銘初探 On the Mirror Inscriptions of the Han Dynasty

摘要

本文主要利用近數十年來考古發掘所得兩漢有銘銅鏡（約一千種），及傳世著錄之有銘漢鏡（千餘種）材料，將漢鏡銘做一全面性整理與研究。首先依銅鏡類型與字體特徵，約分成七個時期討論。
(一)西漢前期：（指景帝以前）：鏡銘字體以小篆為主，與秦篆圓轉勻稱之筆意接近。
(二)西漢中晚期：（是銘文鏡最盛行期）可分三期：(1)景帝至武帝初，字體為較方正篆體。(2)武帝至宣帝，為篆隸夾雜之方篆，筆畫間略見隸化痕跡，與美化傾向。(3)宣帝至西漢末，　　圖案化字體盛行且字裡行間夾有符號，有圓體草化字體，及方折隸化兩大類型。
(三)王莽時期：字體有復古傾向，小篆體再度流行。
(四)東漢早期：隸書為主，且因民間鑄鏡盛行，銘文中脫文、減字現象頻繁。
(五)東漢中晚期：銘文中俗訛、簡省和通假字極多，顯示民間刻工水準不高，同時也反映了東漢民間俗字的概況，對漢字簡體字使用狀況，也提供一些訊息。
此外，本文藉著兩漢鏡銘文字之多樣性，進一步討論了漢代草書的淵源演變、隸變過程，簡俗字的產生，以及繆篆體的形成等有關兩漢文字之重要課題。
