Abstract

Duan-Mu Kai (1903-1987),   a Doctor of Juristic Science  of New York University,  played three important positions in his life: a  famous lawyer, an outstanding  politician and an enthusiastic educationist. He taught at Anhwei University, Fudan University, Soochow University, Chi Nan University, Central University, also undertook various senior officials to assist government  in dealing with  public affairs. Besides, his  general counsel was set  up successively  in Nanjing, Chungking,  Shanghai and Taiwan. He who was a  president   of Soochow  University for fourteen  years devoted himself to an educational career late in life.
