The “Fu Ssu-nien Scholarship” was set up by Academia Sinica in 1951 to commemorate Dr. Fu Ssu-nien, founder of the Institute of History and Philology (IHP). The Scholarship is awarded to high-performing university students in 2nd through 4th year or graduate students committed to studying history, linguistics, archaeology, and anthropology. Over the years, the IHP has made several adjustments to the number of recipients and award money to encourage outstanding students to study in the humanities. Since 2019, this annual Scholarship has been awarded to up to 2 students, each receiving a NT$100,000 prize.
