The series has played a vital role in the dissemination of new legal language, the popularization of basic legal ideas, the construction of a modern law discipline system etc., thus has become one of the three law books and teaching materials in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China that have laid the foundation of the science of law in modern China.
