李尚仁，國立台灣大學牙醫學系畢業，短暫行醫後前往英國攻讀醫學史，1999 年獲得倫敦大學博士學位，曾在The Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at UCL擔任博士後研究員。主要的研究興趣是現代西方醫學史，尤其是英國熱帶醫學史與中國傳教醫療史，並致力推展西方醫學史的研究與教學。著有專書《帝國的醫師：萬巴德與英國熱帶醫學的創建》，論文散見於Isis、Journal of the History of Biology、Social History of Medicine、《中央研究院歷史語言研究所集刊》、《新史學》、《科技、醫療與社會》等學報以及《中國史新論》等論文集，其中包括〈英法聯軍之役中的英國軍事醫療〉、〈展示、說服與謠言：十九世紀傳教醫療在中國〉、〈驅魔傳教——倪維斯論中國人被鬼附身的現象〉、“Discovering 'e Secrets of Long and Healthy Life': John Dudgeon on Hygiene in China”、“Ghost, Vampire, and Scientic Naturalism: Observation and Evidence in the Supernatural Fiction of Grant Allen, Bram Stoker and Arthur Conan Doyle”等。
