中央研究院歷史語言研究所

我的研究興趣在於十九世紀中葉以降的英國政治與社會思想，尤其關注於思想與社會實踐的交互關係。曾經處理的研究課題包括：英國唯心論與新自由主義（New Liberalism）意識型態的成立、牛津大學菁英與工人教育運動的興衰、參與式民主與專業主義間的親和與矛盾關係等。近年來，受全球史方法的啟發，我企圖從二十世紀以降的全球化脈絡，重新探討英美自由主義與社會民主思想的發展理路及跨境效應。在這個問題意識下，我目前著手進行的研究課題有三：第一，二十世紀上半葉英國左派對中國文化的情懷與對中國現代化之論述；第二，英國自由派國際主義者對於戰間期滿州危機的立場與舉措；第三，冷戰自由主義與戰後台灣的思想史研究。
