Introduction

The author compiles and analyzes the 291 anthropometrical data collected between the fall of 1927 and the winter of 1939, and intends to understand the uniqueness of the people of Shantung. Comparative studies were conducted to find out the differences between the people of Shantung and people from other provinces. Intra-provincial analysis was also carried out to see the variance among different regions in Shantung.
