Introduction
Shih surveyed the Lung-tou village and took 489 photos in the year of 1939. These pictures captured the images of agricultural activities, handicrafts, life rituals, annual festivals, new immigrants and a variety of details relating to material culture. Textual descriptions accompany his precious visual records vividly present a small village life of southwest China during the second Sino-Japanese war.
