Yung-chang Tung received his Ph.D. degree in Chinese history from Harvard University. His research focuses on the history of information flow in Middle Period China, especially the Song period (960-1279). He is currently conducting a variety of projects, including the social history of institutional knowledge, historiography in the Song Dynasty, and the history of humor in pre-modern China.
