My area of specialization is art and archaeology in medieval China, specifically from the fifth to the Sixth centuries. I am particularly interested in exploring the intersection between mortuary art and religious practices, the interplay between image and ornament, as well as the sociopolitical dimension of image making. Apart from these, I am also keen to explore the relationship between Daoist and Buddhist art in Sichuan area in the medieval period.
