Visiting Scholar—Professor Jinping Wang
Jinping Wang, Associate Professor of History at the National University of Singapore, has been invited to visit the IHP from September 20 to 27 and will hold a lecture on the morning of September 23 titled “Stones of Dharma Transmission: Quanzhen Daoist Lineages and Genealogical Steles in the Mongol-Yuan Period”.
Prof. Wang’s research interests include Chinese religions, regional studies, epigraphy, and the Mongol-Yuan and the Ming empires. She is the author of the acclaimed monograph In the Wake of the Mongols: The Making of a New Social Order in North China, 1200–1600 (Harvard University Asia Center, 2018), which re-evaluates social dynamics under Mongol rule.
