The 21 theses collected in this book explore the following topics: the casting technology, use and social function of bronze vessels in the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties; remains of the Shang civilization, its politics and its capitals; analysis of materials discovered from Shang tombs near Yinxu; marital relations amongst feudal states in Western Zhou period; changes in political landscapes through time in north China; studies on jade objects and other ornaments; studies of the Eurasian Steppe origin of certain objects.  The book covers studies of politics, culture and arts of the Shang and Zhou dynasty, as well as studies on the feudal states of that time and how these feudal states interact with the cultures in the north on the Steppe.
