Introduction
1994年由中央研究院歷史語言研究所主辦，得行政院國家科學委員會、行政院文化建設委員會補助，以及國立故宮博物院、太平洋文化基金會協助，在中 研院學術活動中心，舉辦兩個會期的「中國考古學與歷史學整合研究國際研討會」，國際部分於1月4日至7日召開，兩岸部分則於1月19日至20日召開。
本論文集收錄發表論文33篇，賸錄1篇，並附載開幕致辭8篇。其中論文又分為五類，依序是：方法和理論、文明的形成和發展、考古與歷史、考古與美術、文字與文獻。
