萬曆二十年壬辰(1592)，朝鮮突遭倭禍(禍首豐臣秀吉，一稱平秀吉)，幾致亡國，明出兵援韓，擊敗日本，再造東國，為十六世紀末東方一大事，此段大事，倭以壬辰四月十三日在朝鮮釜山登陸，至萬曆二十六年戊戌遁去，首尾凡七年。今據朝鮮史籍，特別是《宣祖實錄》，寫一長編，說明其真相，以忠實為第一。
