Professor Michael Lackner
Michael Lackner, senior professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, has been invited to visit the IHP from February 17 to March 1 and will hold a lecture on the morning of February 19 titled “Poems for Diviners.” Prof. Lackner, an internationally renowned scholar and member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, specializes in Song and Ming neo-Confucianism, the history of cultural exchanges between China and the West, and the history of Chinese political thought. In 2017, he was awarded the Tsungming Tu Award by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan.
