Dr. Kuang-ti Li, who first joined the IHP in 1992, has retired as of January 1, 2023, as a research fellow. Specializing in settlement archaeology and ecological archaeology, Dr. Li has enjoyed a distinguished career of exploring topics related to ancient ecosystems, patterns of settlements, and livelihoods using ecological approaches. He is also passionate about the preservation and conservation of cultural assets, and has conducted a number of surveys and rescue excavations of archaeological sites, including participating in the rescue archaeology operation of Southern Taiwan Science Park in Tainan, a project to which he has greatly contributed. In recent years, in addition to compiling excavation reports for publication, Dr. Li has been assisting in compiling and publishing the manuscripts of archaeological excavations by earlier generations of IHP researchers.
