Dr. I-chun Fan, who moved from the Institute of Modern History to the IHP in November 1996 and was a research fellow at the time of retirement, specializes in the social and economic history of the Ming-Qing period and of modern China. For the past several years, Dr. Fan has been actively engaged in the promotion and development of research concerning geographic information systems (GIS), as well as realizing numerous large-scale interdisciplinary projects and the establishment of databases.
Following his retirement on September 1, Dr. Fan will continue to offer his expertise here at the IHP as an adjunct research fellow.
