This design concept is taken from the IHP-housed engraved ornament probably made of tooth from Formosa clouded leopard unearthed at the Gui Shan archaeological site in Pingtung County. The tooth ornament is used as evidence of the leopard’s existence 1.5 millennia ago and this now-extinct animal is represented on the surface of the mug. Through archaeological excavation and cultural and creative transformation, the past that no longer exists is given another life-form to not only serve as a feast for the eye but register in the mind as well.
