%X This article reflects Hobbes’ thoughts on state and social contract from viewpoints of iconology and explores the implications of Leviathan figure that has a sword in hand. In addition, this article will discuss the following concepts: state, sovereignty, power, law, subject, justice and governance legitimacy and analyze their specific meanings in the European political and legal context.
